The 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards made headlines for all the wrong reasons last weekend, but they’re making a come back with this year’s hip-hop cyphers.

Releasing the videos earlier than usual this year, BET kicked off the cyphers with rap newcomers Brianna Perry, Relly, Fame, The Kid Daytona, K’La, Tito Lopez, Core Masson, Kosha Dillz and Boy Jones.

The first installment of cyphers also features the “Youngster” cypher, with Young Money’s Lil Chuckee, along with Lil Niqo and Lil Waah.
The 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards is set to air at 8 p.m. EST on October 9.
