There was a lot of new things we got to see and learn about Bey during the documentary, and we definitely have a new perspective on her as a woman, parent, wife, and superstar.

Check out 10 things we learned about Beyonce below!

1. She sometimes questions whether she should just retire. She also believes artists don’t make albums and soliod bodies of work anymore, they just make singles for the radio.

2. She thinks that the best therapy is having a conversation with a woman, despite how much she loves her husband Bey says:

“I love my husband, but there’s nothing like a conversation with a woman that understands you. I grow so much from those conversations. I need my sisters.”

3. She never thought she could love Jay-Z any more than she did until she gave birth to Blue Ivy but she does!

4. She thinks women have to work much harder than men, but play an equal role in society.

“Women have to work much harder to make it in this world. It really pisses me off that women don’t get the same opportunities as men do, or money for that matter. Because lets face it, money gives men the power to run the show. It gives men the power to define our values and to define what’s sexy and what’s feminine and that’s bullshit. At the end of the day, it’s not about equal rights, it’s about how we think. We have to reshape our own perception of how we view ourselves.”

Whoo! Powerful!

5. Destiny’s Child found out that their album debuted at #1 while filming their ‘Bootylicious’ video.

6. The best thing you can do for her before she goes on stage is to make her mad. The diva likes to channel the rage into her performances.

7. The first time anyone saw her infamous Billboard Awards “Run The World” routine was during the actual performance, where she was secretly also pregnant.

8. Both of her parents had the biggest influence on her work ethic, saying her father taught her “business and being polite doesn’t mesh”, and her mother, “taught me everything i know by example.”

9. She’s not afraid to let herself be insecure, which she very much can be at times.

“I need to stop pretending that I have it all together and if I’m scared, be scared.”

10. She wrote a song after her miscarriage, but she hasn’t released it yet. It’s apparently, to her, “the saddest song she’s ever written.”
