Students at University of Arizona were forced to go into lockdown mode yesterday evening after warnings of a gunman on campus were put out.

According to the Huffington Post, a 911 call was made around 4:52 PM with a person reporting that they saw an armed gunman in 2 of the campus’ buildings.

Police came onto the scene and searched for the alleged gunman, but have yet to see one.

The lockdown on campus was lifted a couple of hours later after no sightings of a gunman came and no shots were fired.

A spokesperson for the police said that they are still “doing a floor-by-floor search to make sure there is no threat.”

A shooting at the University of Arizona’s nursing school in October 2002 left three professors dead before the gunman killed himself.
