This was President Barack Obama yesterday, checking to see if the rain had stopped during a news conference with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey.
The crowd in the Rose Garden at the White House confirmed; it hadn’t.
So, he did what he had to do. Obama called on a nearby Marine to act as his own personal Fonzworth Bentley.
Because he’s the president…
And if Diddy can do it…so can he. The president gets wet for NO ONE!
Which is totally understandable. But this Marine wasn’t having it. No. Seriously. He’s looking like “Ain’t this some sh*t.“
“No…really…WTF is life right now!?”
Our advice to him? Get over it. It’s the president. And do you know how many chicks you’ll get when you tell them you held the president’s umbrella? And anyway, if you recall hip-pop history, Fonzworth became pretty damn famous for being Diddy’s personal umbrella holder. This…my friend…was the opportunity of a lifetime.
Some people can be so ungrateful.
NOTE: The Marine Corp Manual, basically the Marine bible, specifically states that a member of the Marine’s uniform dress code does not allow the carrying of an umbrella and “no officer or official shall issue instructions which conflict with, alter, or amend any provision without the approval of the Commandant of the Marine Corps.”
But…this is the Commander-in-Chief. Can’t an exception be made? BTW, this Marine is probably pretty stoked…but he has to be professional, so no shade to you Mr. Marine. We totally respect what you’re doing for this country!
