We’re a promotions company based in Orlando, FL where we also have a club night every Tuesday at Antigua called Fat Tuesday. In addition to the Leaders of the New Cool series, we’ve also done concerts with everyone from Young Jeezy to Busta Rhymes and every kind of party in between all that. I also manage an artist named Slim E and consult for other companies and artists."

Global Network Posh: How did "Leaders of the new cool" come about?

Dominique Maldonado: "A friend of mine named Kerstyn from Glow Connection PR and I met at this coffeeshop in Harlem one morning and were just sharing our love for hip hop and how much great talent there is out there that doesn’t necessarily make it on the radio. We thought it would be a great idea to put together some shows with these types of artists and basically just celebrate how ALIVE hip hop really is. I guess it really grew out of the optimism that I have and that my peers have for the future of hip hop. My partner, Chris definitely supported me in wanting to get take the company in this direction because prior to LOTNC, we never really did events with artists where you couldn’t research their record sales or radio spins and make a decision about bringing them in concert. It really was a risk and a challenge to get this moving. "

"Since the Leaders of the New Cool started in July of 2009, we’ve had some partnerships with influential people in the markets we’ve entered. We’ve been really fortunate to have been welcomed with open arms everywhere we’ve gone. It’s about respecting and celebrating what’s important locally and then bringing the LOTNC vision and flavor to that. I know I’m gonna leave some people out, but off the top of my head I’d say partnering with Grand Hustle in Atlanta, Fakeshore Drive in Chicago, 368 Music and Studio 43 in DC and some of the radio folks from NYC were all really critical to the success and local respect that LOTNC has had. I also can’t forget Fadia Kader who invited us to present a stage at SXSW, which was such an amazing experience."

Global Network Posh: Who are some of the featured artist in "Leaders of the new cool" ?
