<p>After months of speculation, it has been confirmed that South Africa will be hosting the second season of the Indian Premier League to begin from April 18, IPL chief Lalit Modi said <a href="http://www.24timepass.com/indian-premier-league/ipl-opening-ceremony-2009-april-18.htm" title="IPL Season 2 2009 start from April 18 in South Africa">IPL opening ceremony in Mumbai will take place on April 10</a>. Tournament will have two new venues ,Ahmedabad and Vishakapatnam. He also said that the schedule of the matches is still being fine tuned.
