Singers, rappers, and entertainers are always looking for their next hit. Although most artists write their own songs, a lot of times a producer or songwriter will be brought into the mix to help pen a hit for that artist. The part that makes things complicated working with songwriters is that the artist who’s potentially buying the hit, may record the lyrics written for them, but the song won’t get used by them. Then a new artist comes along that wants to purchase those lyrics, records the same song, and then you have duplicates. Now even though both versions may not be released, there’s always the case of the ‘alternate’ version being leaked on the net.
