Drake, Francis & The Lights and K-OS made a stop at The Fillmore of the Music Factory in the Queen City, Charlotte, North Carolina on May 25, 2010 during the Away From Home tour. K-OS did not perform but the two acts that did their thing and left the audience more than satisfied. Francis & The Lights were the opening act and a welcome change for the mixed crowd of young adults, college students, teens, and tweens.

Their show was very energetic and something like a mix between Green Day & Maroon 5.  They went over on show time to about 45 minutes but all the songs were great and worth a visit to their website. Their show does need a few screws and tightened like having a DJ or someone to switch tracks for the band so the lead singer doesn’t have to run behind the guitarist after every song.  The running back and forth and the few missed doubled clicks or starting the wrong song did however add to the bands authenticity in a way.

It was like the band was a raw talent and hungry or even in need of the standing room only crowds approval. Overall with a few things to clean up their live show a bit Francis & The Lights could end up performing at stadiums in no time at all.

After Francis & The Lights finished their set they exited the stage and there was a 15-20 min intermission will the stage crew set things up the way Drake liked them. The crowd didn’t really have time to get to antsy because the atmosphere was very intimate and set up in a way that it was almost impossible not to make a new friend or at least debate which song or songs would be performed or which ones were best.  Then the lights went low and a more energized than televised Drake stepped on stage and performed most peoples favorite verses.

As soon as he let everyone know he was in the building Drake said a few words to the people and engaged the front row before jumping into his so far gone mix-tape slow jams.  This was not really a concert for the guys by any means but the ladies did not mind in Charlotte or any other city for that matter. A mic stand adorned with random brassieres sat center stage almost daring the girls in the front row to add to the stage decor.

Drake continued performing and wrapped up around 10:45 P.M leaving the fans with more than enough time to go someplace else and continue the party after wards.

Overall this show is worth seeing one good time with a date girlfriend/boyfriend or special somebody.
