Well look a’ here. I wanted to write about one of my favorite new artists Gilbere Forte and I wanted to write about my time in San Fran this past weekend visiting the Black Scale clothing line shop. Lo and behold the two innovators of style collabo’d on a in-store performance that couldn’t make my job easier. Gil reppin’ that Philly let’s the cameras follow his process from beginning to end of doing one of his first live performances. It’s ill to see the transformation from practice mode to playing status as well as the physical change in getting a cut and switching the gear game up.

I love this stage, the origin, for new artists that I know will make a dent in the culture. With Gil doing his own beats and working with others, his already polished style is only going to shine brighter once all the stars align for him. Be sure to check the music while checking the visuals. This guy is gonna be big.

Reppin’ that Miami scene is Ghostwridah. His name comes to me from a reliable source. The person that put me on to this cat is the same person that told me that Rick Ross was gonna be huge waaaay before the ‘Hustlin” song came out. So I trust her judgement, that’s right I said her. Tiff knows her hip-hop.

Ghost’ goes for the shorty’s with the ‘Red Bottoms’ theme on the lyrics side, but the beat is hard enough for the fellas to bob to and not feel crazy. He has the right kind of voice to catch your attention, a few quick wit lines and can ride a commercial radio aimed beat. I’d like to hear what his street songs have to offer as well. On the other hand, this song is Don Cannon approved so I guess the street seal of approval process is underway.
