Not again!

Ten people plummeted to their deaths on Sunday, when a float plane crashed and burst into flames at an airport in Soldotna, an Alaska Kenai Peninsula town.

The plane was operated by a local air-taxi company and was a de Havilland DHC3 Otter.

The plane crashed at the Soldotna airport at about 11:20 a.m. local time, the FAA said. It was initially unclear whether the plane was departing or landing at the time.

None of the victims’ names have been released and an investigation is underway. There were no survivors.

The peninsula is a popular destination for tourists, fisherman, and hikers. Our thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families.
