Ashley Qualls, 25, was shot Tuesday morning in Treme, LA near the intersection of Esplanade Avenue and North Roman Street, according to New Orleans police.
Witnesses nearby overheard Qualls arguing around 12:30 a.m. with three men on bicycles. They also claim to have heard gunshots shortly after and saw Qualls lying on her back near the intersection.
Many gathered yesterday to pay tribute to Qualls and they made sure she made a fashion statement in a pair of stiletto heels, her signature look.
Qualls was a graduate of Tulane University School of Social Work. She came from meager beginnings in Blythewood, S.C. She studied social work because she wanted to make a difference in the world.
No arrest has been made yet. Our prayers go out to the Qualls family.
