When folks mention TDE, people talk about Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q. But don’t sleep on Ab-Soul who, since his 2011 debut album Longterm Mentality, has been dropping heat.
Ab’s latest track, the very political “Christopher DRONEr,” is no different. The song is named after the deceased former LAPD officer Christopher Dorner, who went to war with the police earlier in the year. Ab changed the name to “DRONEr” because United States authorities were using drones to try and catch Dorner.
On the song, Ab goes in, rhyming:
“This ain’t no manifesto, you niggas know me
My niggas manifest O’s of the Oakley
High tech sippin’ high tech like Detroit Red used to coach me.”
