In a terrible turn of events, the father of 1-year-old Antiq Hennis, who was shot dead in Brooklyn while being pushed in a stroller, isn’t telling police a thing about who may have killed his son.

In fact, Anthony Hennis is trying to sell his story to publications instead of being cooperative with police. But only for the right price.

“I’ve got to keep my family safe. I got to get them out of this neighborhood,” Hennis, a self-described “super-gangbanger” from Brooklyn, told a reporter for The News.

“I’m just looking for a donation. I’m not in it for the money.”

The 22-year-old, who police believe was the intended target of the shooting in the Brownsville area of Brooklyn, believes he’s being wrongly criticized. But instead of clearing up his story with law enforcement – and possibly putting his son’s killer behind bars – he’s looking to exchange a few quotes for that donation.

“I know what they’re saying in the media,” he said. “I want the world to know what kind of person I really am.”

“My family is going through things, we’re hurting,” Hennis added at one point as he tried to persuade The News’ scribe. “My wife is hurting. Everyone around me feels my pain.”

Investigators have arrested a suspect in connection with the toddler’s death, but not with the help of Hennis. In the meantime, the investigation continues.

Hennis may very well not trust the police, but is he doing the right thing by selling his story instead of helping put the person who killed his son behind bars?
