Future and Ciara are gunning for the Cutest Couple In Hip-Hop and R&B award and shoot, we just might give it to them.
After asking for his girl’s hand in marriage earlier this week, Future spoke with MTV about how it feels to almost be a married man, how Ciara reacted, and if their actual wedding will be publicized. Ciara also discussed why they went public with their engagement. Check out some highlights below:
Future On How He Feels After Getting Engaged:
“I feel different but it’s great. You know, it’s a great situation and I’m happy about it. I’m excited about it. I know she’s super happy and it’s just, like, I feel good to be able to make someone happy.”
On Ciara’s Reaction:
“She was definitely surprised. I’ve been planning it for a minute, it took me some time. I was well thought about the ring. I was just taking my time with it. I wanted it to be special for her.”
As far as whether or not the couple plans to go public with their wedding, Future kept it coy:
“You got to stay tuned.”
Ciara On What Made Them Go Public With Their Engagement:
“I’ve had my experience over the years and I’ve been able to learn a lot. When you step outside, you put yourself in a position to where people are going to be able to judge. They can criticize and they can give their opinion and that’s something I used to always fear. I’m kind of in a place where I’m facing my fears, I’m running toward my fears, I’m running toward the things that make me uncomfortable because if I live my life based off of those things, I won’t live my life I’m supposed to. I won’t live it to the fullest and I feel like you have to really live your life for you. That’s where I am at this day and time in my life and I’m also with someone who makes me extremely comfortable to be that way which is really important. And the way that he makes me feel is just like ‘why not?’ If you love somebody, you should express it and now I understand that.”
