Heated protests over Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych’s decision on Nov. 21 not to sign the accords with the European Union have resulted in the toppling of a statue of Vladimir Lenin on Sunday, as outrage mounts over the government’s push for closer ties with Russia. Police are investigating the incident. Ukraine’s government news agency said a lawmaker with the nationalist Svoboda Party claimed responsibility. [CNN]

Instead, they decided to “thrill-kill” an innocent man by luring him to their car through Craigslist. They are now facing homicide charges. So this happened. Republican Rick Santorum couldn’t wait to make an apartheid reference in the wake of Nelson Mandela’s death, comparing the systematic oppression in South Africa to the Affordable Care Act. “Nelson Mandela stood up against a great injustice and was willing to pay a huge price for that, and that’s the reason he is mourned today, because of that struggle that he performed…and I would make the argument that we have a great injustice going on right now in this country with an ever increasing size of government that is taking over and controlling people’s lives, and Obamacare is front and center in that.” Seriously dude?
