This time of year there’s lots of gift shopping and dinner table sibling rivalry happening but this holiday season Chiara de Blasio is helping others, reaching out to those battling depression and substance abuse.
The daughter of the Mayor-elect of New York City, Bill de Blasio tells her story in a YouTube video and reveals her own personal struggles with clinical depression, triumphs and wise words to those going through the same.
On overcoming the disease, Chiara says:
“It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it’s so worth it.”
