Police have labeled the Kansas Jewish Center shootings as a “hate crime.” Also police have identified the woman killed in the second shooting as Terry LaMano.

Police have identified the suspect in the Kansas Jewish Center shooting as white supremacist and former Klu Klux Klan member, Fraizer Glenn Cross.

According to the Huffington Post, Cross who also goes by the last name Miller, shot and killed 14-year-old Reat Griffin Underwood and his grandfather Dr. William Lewis Corporon in the parking lot of a Jewish Community Center on the eve of Passover. After the shooting, Cross drove to Village Shalom retirement center where he killed a young woman.<

Police haven’t labeled the shootings as hate crimes, but did discover Cross’ past as a white supremacist and founder of the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.

Cross has long been an outspoken white supremacist and was the former “grand dragon” of the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. A founder of the White Patriot Party, Cross also served three years in federal prison on weapons charges and for plotting robberies and the assassination of SPLC founder Morris Dees

Cross was arrested and charged with a preliminary charge of first-degree murder.

Cross has also visited college campuses to talk about his beliefs and strong dislike of the Jewish community with his slogan “No Jews, Just Right.” After his arrest, the 73-year-old was heard on video allegedly shouting “Heil Hitler.” Police were unable to confirm the chants.

The two victims killed at the Jewish Center were Methodist and were headed to the center to prepare for an upcoming talent show. The woman killed at the retirement community has yet to be identified by police. In a statement to the public, President Obama offered his condolences to the families of the victims, and called the tragedy “heartbreaking.”

The Jewish Community Center of The Greater City of Kansas City also released a statement.

“Our hearts go out to the families who have suffered loss on this tragic day. Our heartfelt gratitude as well to all those in Kansas City and around the world who have expressed sympathy, concern and support,” the center posted on their Facebook page.

Police have Cross in custody. He will make his first court appearance today, April 14, at 1:30 p.m.
