Also, thousands of Flint residents are fighting foreclosures due to unpaid bills for water that many people can’t safely consume and use, reports NBC News. The Flint water crisis began back in 2014 and potentially exposed over 100,000 residents to high levels of lead when the Flint River became the drinking source for the city. Residents will have to continue using bottled water until all lead pipes are replaced, which isn’t likely to happen before 2020.
