In others film news, we have an update on Girls Trip 2… sort of.

Apparently Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Tiffany Haddish are all in for the sequel, but are waiting on the script. According to Page Six, Tiffany said during a recent appearance that she hopes it will happen but there are issues over a script. Queen Latifah also mentioned previously that they are waiting on a script. From Page Six:

“I wish there was, I hope there is. I have been petitioning for it.” Haddish then dished, “I’ve even written a script for it. Me and the girls punched it up and made it good. They don’t want it. We understood how much money could be made, and they don’t want to pay it. So I doubt it.”

She then joked, “So we’re just going to make our own movie — called ‘Is She on the Trip?’ Ooooh.” Quick-thinking Haddish then also asked the well-heeled guest who asked the question at the fancy gala, “Are you gonna invest in it?”

But, apparently it was all a joke? Page Six continues…

A rep for Haddish told us her comments were all a gag (although no one in the room seemed to get that it was a joke). “She was totally joking,” said the spokesperson. “While she would love to make that movie one day, she has not written or participated in writing any script, so there was nothing for the studio to pass on. I can’t stress enough that she was kidding.”

Bad news for Busy Philipps, as her talk show has been canceled.

In an Instagram video, she revealed…

“Here’s the thing you guys… my show, Busy Tonight is not going to continue on E! after May 16th. They decided not to pick it up. Look, we’re meeting with people and seeing if there’s another place that makes sense for it to go, because I would like to continue doing it. We would all like to figure out a way to continue to make it. It’s wild because we’ve only been doing the show for a relatively short period of time — in that time, I feel we’ve been able to accomplish so much creatively, and I guess culturally, and I think we’ve had a real point of view.”

“I hope that… we can continue to do the show somewhere else. I hope that we figure that out because it does seem lame that there would be just one woman in late night at a time,” Busy added.

We wish the best for Busy and we’ll keep you posted on her next move.
