Casey Anthony was aquitted yesterday of the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee and the public outrage has been through the roof.

Over a month of testimony, 400 pieces of evidence and more than 90 witnesses and a jury found Anthony not guilty.

Like Caylee’s case, there have been numerous cases in the past that have definitely made us scratch our heads and question the system.

For instance, there hasn’t been this much shock and awe over a court case since the O.J. Simpson trial of the 1990s. Remember those famous words spoken by Simpson’s defense attorney Johnny Cochran? “If the glove doesn’t fit, you must acquit.”

That’s just one case that made us question our judicial system, take a look at some other “head scratchers” from Sean Bell to Robert Blake.

O.J. Simpson was tried on two counts of murder following the June 1994 deaths of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. He was aquitted in what is known as America’s most controversial case ever.

Racial tensions rose in Jena, Louisiana after a noose was hung in the courtyard of Jena High School. Six students reacted by assaulting a white student Justin Barker and were given unfair convictions. One of the six was tried as an adult and the others faced several charges of battery and attempted murder.

Amadou Diallou, 23 from Guinea was shot 19 times by plain clothes detectives for reaching for his wallet in 1999. The detectives fired 41 times. All four officers responsible for his death were acquitted.

Sean Bell was killed in Jamaica, Queens the day before his wedding by plain clothes detectives who fired on his car 50 times killing Bell and severely injuring his two friends. The detectives who acted recklessly were all acquitted of manslaughter sparking comparison to the 1999 shooting of Amadou Diallou.

R. Kelly was found in possesion of a video of him having sex with an underage girl. On June 13, 2008, a Chicago jury found Kelly not guilty of all 14 counts related to child pornography.

Robert Blake tried to hire stuntmen Ronald “Duffy” Hambleton and Gary McLarty to kill his wife Bonnie Lee Bakley. Blake was found not guilty of his wife’s murder.

Rodney King was recorded by George Holliday being brutally beaten by the LAPD. The footage was aired by news agencies around the world. Three of the officers that attacked King were acquitted and the jury failed to reach a verdict for the fourth. The verdict sparked the 1992 Los Angeles where 53 people died and thousands were injured.

Michael Jackson was on everybody’s hit list and when he was acquitted of 7 counts of child molestation. The world went crazy.
