Seems like the Journal News will join the little red dots on their interactive maps that represent gun permit holders in the surrounding area!

DETAILS: On Blast! New York Newspaper Publishes Names & Addresses Of Gun Owners

The New York newspaper has reportedly hired a team of armed guards after receiving threats in response to publishing the names and addresses of all gun holders in Westchester and Rockland counties. The news comes just days after the paper announced that they would release an expanded list of more gun permit owners.

The Rockland County Times reported on Tuesday that Journal News editor Caryn A. McBride hired gun-toting security guards to patrol the paper’s offices amid a flurry of angry emails and phone calls in the following days.

The paper hired the increased security from RGA Investigations & Security, a firm based in New City that provides services like protection and security guard certification, according to the Times.

The Journal News was denied requests for gun permit records for residents in Putnam County since the threats have begun.

The threats have caused such a concern that McBride filed at least two reports with local police.

Looks like the tables have turned. Let’s just hope everyone remains calm and safe!
