    • As most you already know, “Money” Mitt Romney has chosen Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate for this year’s election.  There has been a lot of talk about what this guy from Wisconsin is really about, so I thought I would break it down into ten easy and tweetable bullet points.

As we gear up for the 2012 election, it is important that we have all of the facts so we can make sure that understand just how big of difference there is between President Obama and the Money Mitt Team.

> Under Paul Ryan’s tax plan, Mitt Romney would only pay .82% in federal income taxes.

> Paul Ryan would cut $170 billion dollars in Pell Grant funding, while giving tax breaks to the wealthy.

> Paul Ryan would cut medicare and create a voucher plan that would increase grandma and grandpa’s health cost by $6350/year.

> Paul Ryan would privatize Social Security, allowing Wall Street to gamble with our retirement money.

> Paul Ryan voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which creates an even playing field for women in the workplace.

> Paul Ryan voted against repealing the discriminatory policy of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” and supports writing discrimination into the Constitution by amending it to ban gay marriage.

> Paul Ryan would ban the right for women to have an abortion even during cases of rape and incest. He would also eliminate Planned Parenthood.

> Paul Ryan would make drastic cuts to housing assistance, food stamps, education and job training programs.

> Paul Ryan wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare in its entirety.

> Paul Ryan is the most conservative Republican member of Congress to be chosen as the Vice Presidential nominee in 100 years.

> Bonus: Paul Ryan believes our rights come from “nature and God” and not from government.

Every four years we hear older people tell us that this is the “most important election ever.”  I am not going to join that chorus of propaganda, however I will say that we have the power to shape our own destiny with our right to vote.

Armed with the facts we can have intelligent conversations about why we are going to work everyday to get President Barack Obama re-elected.  If you need more information or clarification, please reach out to us and we will provide.

“We’re stronger together than we could ever be on our own.” ~Barack Obama
