Every year, there comes a time when all the best in the world of music come together to celebrate their work and the work of their peers. But let’s be real: they actually come to wear really, really cool shit.

While some of the style stars we normally look forward to were noticeably absent (Rihanna, why would you do such a thing?) The red carpet was still full of stunning looks that we dissected at length during the show. But now that we’ve had some time to settle in and get a good look at what the red carpet was working with, we realized that sometimes what pulls these looks together isn’t the big designer name, sometimes it’s all in the details.

From Rita Ora‘s ‘Commes de Garçons meets ironic mustache’ nails, to Kelly Osbourne’s teeny tiny Grammys and Natasha Bedingfield’s super trendy lucite clutch, check out some of our favorite fun details from the 56th Annual Grammy Awards red carpet.

Kelly Osbourne got in touch with her daughter of darkness side, opting for a backwards purple cross necklace to accent her black dress. Ozzy taught her well.

Upon closer inspection, one would note that although Kelly is the daughter of a Grammy winner, she has no need to try to make an album of her own, because her nail art featured two tiny Grammy Awards. Oh, and the rings? Perfect.

Young Money’s newest member was going for the gold with this full coverage gold-glitter manicure, and a Bling Ring that we’re sure is worth more than our annual salary, because she’s Paris Hilton, duh.

Louise Roe’s vampy manicure could have used another coat for the color to really pop, but who cares about nails when your ring is demanding that level of attention? Wowie.

We never pegged Madonna as the type to be an acrylic tip, nail art kinda gal, but what do we know? The legend showed off her glitter French tips in a seriously blinged out glove and two rings that spelled out “M.E.” That’s right, not you. Oh, and she had a pimp cane. Acrylic nails and a pimp cane! Only Madge can do these things.

Rita Ora’s Lanvin dress featured plenty of shine, but paled in glimmer compared to what was going on with her accessories. Rita proved she really was a member of ROC Nation by loading up on rings and things to top off a playful multi-colored manicure.

Anna Kendrick and Madonna were reading the same nail manual, as she opted for a soft gray mani with a glitter French. But the real star was her gorg mirrored clutch, which we’re sure doubled as a compact throughout the night.

Natasha Bedingfield gave us the indie vibe we much expected, and loved, with a lucite clutch and a huge arm cuff with turquoise stones.
