There’s just something mystical about Erykah Badu and we can’t quite put our finger on it. It could be her enchanting voice, or perhaps her free-spirited ways. She’s got that voodoo, you know.
And then there’s her unparalleled personal style, which she opens up about in ELLE magazine’s October issue, saying:
“I was raised a child of the funk era: Betty Davis and Bootsy Collins. I’ve always enjoyed a very loosely put together style that feels like maybe I slept in it the night before—almost hobo chic. Effortless.”
Although Erykah was styled for the feature in a Maison Martin Margiela coat and dress, the soulful songstress/songwriter wears a hat, head wrap, and layered necklaces from her own closet.
Check her out in the issue when it hits newsstands nationwide on September 23.
