A Friday shooting at the Park Ridge apartments in Ferguson has been confirmed by St. Louis County Police.

The Federal Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms are involved in the incident, according to KTVI.

Officer Tim Zoll, spokesman for the Ferguson Police Department, confirmed that shots had been fired at the apartment complex, near the intersection of Ferguson and West Florrisant avenues.

Zoll did not know if anyone had been shot, but he said that an ambulance had been called to the scene.

The complex is not far from where protests over the Michael Brown shooting have been centered.
