Just days after being involved in a scuffle near Skid Row in downtown L.A. Zac Efron appears to be in pretty good shape.
ESPN tweeted out a photo of Efron hangin’ with his Neighbors co-star Seth Rogen and famous footballer Aaron Rodgers. According to reports, Zac was punched in the mouth during the fight, though he appeared uninjured in the photo.
GossipCop reports it’s quite possible the photo was taken before the incident took place.
While it looks like Efron was able to escape the fight unscathed, his bodyguard was not quite as lucky. According to TMZ, Zac’s bodyguard claims the actor risked his life to save him. According to their reports, Zac and his bodyguard were “cruising” around downtown L.A. at 12:30 am when they unexpectedly ran out of gas and came to a rolling stop at the bottom of an off-ramp.
TMZ reports the bodyguard later switched things up a bit, saying they weren’t so much “cruising,” but going to a restaurant in Little Tokyo – located in the downtown area.
Initially Zac claimed the entire incident started after he tossed a bottle from the car. The bottle shattered near a group of people, making them angry and causing them to attack. His bodyguard now claims that’s not at all how things went down.
He says he was attacked unexpectedly with “a spear” and stabbed in the face, stomach and chest. He claims Zac then got out of the car and swung the bottle at the attackers to stop them. The bodyguard says only then did the attack stop.
TMZ reports, however, that upon further investigation they found that Zac’s bodyguard has a criminal past. He has been charged for crimes involving drugs and violence.
They’re not the only ones that don’t buy this story. Zac’s friends are reportedly “worried sick” about the young actor. They claim none of them believe he was actually driving downtown in the middle of the night in search of sushi and fear their friend is back into drugs.
“Zac’s a loner. He goes out rarely and the idea of him driving miles to go to some sushi restaurant in downtown L.A. after midnight is preposterous,” one friend told TMZ.
Efron’s friends also claim his bodyguard is not a bodyguard at all, but rather a convicted drug dealer who has been spending a lot of time with Zac, despite the warnings of his friends.
TMZ also claims that while it was widely believed Zac had been treated twice at rehab facilities for cocaine use, that is completely false. Efron allegedly went to stay with a friend outside California where he received private therapy and nothing more.
