The NFL wide receiver released a statement via his website that reads as followed:
"I would like to apologize to everyone for the recent events that have occurred. I would like to wish Evelyn well and will never say anything bad about her because I truly love her to death. I will continue to be positive and train hard for another opportunity in the NFL. To all the fans and supporters I have disappointed, you have my sincerest apologies. I will stay positive and get through this tough period in my life."
He later tweeted, addressing the situation once again:
Chad got into an altercation with his wife of one month over the weekend that landed him in jail. She claims he allegedly head-butted her, causing cuts and lacerations to her face.
Since then, Chad has been dropped from the Miami Dolphins, and his new reality show Ev & Ocho has been canceled by VH1. Not to mention, Evelyn filed for divorce in the state of Florida earlier today.
Chad also took to twitter to make a few non-discrete statements including unfollowing Evelyn and changing his Twitter avatar to the photo below:
With this statement, it seems like Chad is handling everything the best he possibly can. Stay tuned for the latest.
