By now most of you should know Soulja Boy was arrested earlier this morning. The reports say Soulja was busted with a lot of marijuana, guns and about $70,000 in cash.

Cops booked the Atlanta rapper for possession with intent to distribute, as well as other charges.
Immediately I noticed that people started questioning the rapper’s intelligence and pretty much blaming him for all that is wrong with Black people, rap and life in general.

If I didn’t know any better, I’d think people thought Soulja Boy was responsible for 9/11, global warming and the corporate greed that has 99 percent of Americans currently Occupying Wall Street.
With that said, I started to rationalize how Soulja Boy was arrested with weed, guns and $70,000 in a car full of dudes.
Here is the scenario I came up with in my mind. They were heading to a strip club and decided to get their pre-game on. For all of those who don’t know what the pre-game is, think of it like tailgating minus the football game. After smoking some weed, they grabbed a shoe box, because the only logical place to keep $70, 000 is in a shoe box tucked away under the bed or on the top shelf of the closet. Unless you’re Redman, then the shoe box might have been on the top of your fridge.
If that’s what happened, then I can somewhat understand how you could get caught with weed, but what about the guns?
This is America, right? We do have the constitutional right to bear arms. Plus, if you’re walking around with $70,000 on your body, someone better have some heat on them! It’s a recession and we all know people who haven’t seen that much money in two years.
For the people who are crying about Soulja getting caught with weed, he’s a rapper and rappers smoke weed. Also weed is about to be legal in a few years. I also am willing to bet money that if a bill was presented in Congress for the government to legalize weed, most of you would want the bill to pass.
So why can’t Soulja smoke some weed?
Have we forgotten one of his catchiest songs? “I Just Wanna Smoke Weed & Buy Shoes.”
He just was arrested for doing that and if that’s a crime, it shouldn’t be.
