Anders has admitted to his actions through his 1,500 page manifesto titled, “Knights Templar 2083 -A European Declaration of Independence.”

In his rambiling manifesto, Anders outlines how he will carry out one of the most horrific acts of terrorism in Norway’s history.

In this manifesto, Anders describes his thought process in a step by step outline leading up to Friday July 22, 2011. Breaking it down, we’ve compiled a timeline of some of the events leading up to the bombing and shooting massacre.

July 2010:

Breivik buries a suit of body armor and police insignia in a crate in the forest.

October 2010:

Breivik purchases a Ruger Mini-14 assault rifle for 1,400 euros. The same gun was thought to have been used in the Utoya Island Massacre.

December 2010 – Feb. 2011:

Breivik orders bomb ingredients and 190 boxes of aspirin. He covers it up by claiming his company needs them to deal with the hangovers of his staff during the Christmas season.

March 1 – April 27, 2011:

Breivik raises 2,000 euros by selling his Breitling watch and Montblanc fountain pen while ordering fertilizer for the bomb he was making and sets up a bomb factory in a farm house two and a half hours from Oslo.

May 2, 2011:

Breivik begins making his bomb out of fertilizer.

June 13, 2011: 

Breivik sets off a test bomb at a remote location, preparing himself for the brutal Oslo Bombing.

July 2, 2011: 

Breivik goes over the travel route for Plan A (bombing Oslo) and Plan B (the Island Massacre).

July 3, 2011:

Breivik downloads some trance music for his brutal massacre on July 22, 2011 that killed 76 people. He wonders if a combination of steroids and pills could turn him “into a superhuman one-man-army for 2 hours!”

Breivik spends two-and-a-half hours digging up his armor in the forest needed for his massacre on July 22, 2011.

July 18, 2011:

Breivik loads his Volkswagen van with explosives.

Breivik writes this will be his last entry and he will “initiate blasting sequences at pre-determined sites.”
