After anchoring red carpets and guest hosting on E!’s Daily 10, she’s found a nice home for herself on VH1 with a well deserved show of her own. After speaking with Carrie it’s obvious she’s got a magnetic personality that leaves everyone in her path wanting more.

The bossman Uncle Rush happens to be joining Carrie as a guest on her show this morning, so what better way to get the day started than a tribute to Carrie and all that she brings to our mornings?

GlobalGrind: After spending some time watching your video interviews we think we love you.

Carrie Keagan: This is the greatest interview ever!

What made you decide to have so much fun with your interviews?

Because I never got trained to do it any other way. I started doing interviews because the guy that I partnered up with at No Good Television, my production company, actually hounded me for quite a while saying, ‘Do interviews for me, do interviews for me!’ and I kept saying no.

He knew that I loved music and so he finally asked if I’d want to interview Lemmy from Motorhead and I said ‘Well, yeah! Who wouldn’t want to hang out with Lemmy from Motorhead, he’s like the party king!’

So I said yes finally. I was never trained or schooled in how to be a broadcast journalist so I just went into all of my interviews like I was going to hang out with these people. I want to know what makes them tick, I just want to know what it s like to have a beer with them and that’s how it started to unravel, and it’s turned into what I do now.

Now you are the host of VH1’s Big Morning Buzz. How did it feel when you got that gig?

I had been working with VH1 for quite a while, we’ve done a bunch of shows together so when I found out that they were trying to do a morning show I basically threw my hat into the ring immediately and said ‘Please, pick me’ and they all laughed and said ‘Really? You want to do this?’

So when they called me and asked if I wanted to do it I screamed and jumped up and down and said ‘This is what I was meant to do.’ It was a very happy day!

Which person has been the most fun to interview?

That is absolutely the hardest question I ever have to answer. I have so much fun with everybody that comes on and I know that sounds really cheesy but you’ve seen my interviews so you understand that I try and have fun with everyone and legitimately we do have a good time, we aren’t putting on a show.

I love interviewing comedians because I just like having fun and that’s what they do for a living. We entertain each other and I’m the best audience for a comedian because I love to laugh.

Last season we had Lenny Kravitz on and he was an absolute dream come true, he’s everything that everybody says he is. He is gorgeous and wonderful and he’s sweet and I totally got intimidated! It’s just cool to meet legends. Interviewing somebody like Shirley Maclaine, my heart just stops every time because these people are legends, and they’re talking to me!

Have you ever interviewed someone who just didn’t get your sense of humor?

Tommy Lee Jones is not really a very funny person. He tends to be more on the serious side. I was not laughing in that interview!
