Denise is a native New Yorker, who attributes her diligent work ethic to her mother, who raised the actress and her two younger brothers in Brooklyn.
She’s of Puerto Rican, Dominican and Greek heritage and began modeling for Ford Modeling Agency at 12 years old.
But that’s what everyone knows about her.

— When Denise was a young girl she would come home from school and watch The Oprah Winfrey Show with her grandmother. This lead to tears when the show was canceled.
— She loves animals and has a pet dog.

— One of Denise’s dream roles would be to star in a film opposite Dame Judi Dench.
— The new member of Single Ladies didn’t learn how to drive until 2010 when she finally got her learner’s permit.
— Remember when we told you she was an animal lover? Well if she wasn’t acting she would probably be a veterinarian.
— Denise is fascinated with different places and exploring the world. “I love to travel. I love airports and I love discovering new places and cultures. I’d like to go to Thailand in 2011,” she said during an interview.
— When you travel the world you have to know how to speak the language, right? She is learning how to speak French.
— Denise is a boxing fan and spent this past weekend watching the Miguel Cotto fight, tweeting “Cotto and Margarito… Let’s go Cotto! #PuertoRicanPride”
