It’s official! Harlem’s very own Azealia Banks signs with Universal Music Group – currently one of the “big three” record companies in the industry.

The 20-year-old made the big announcement today via her personal Twitter account, along with this celebratory tweet and hints on the release date for her debut album:
“God just dealt me a new hand today I reaaaaaaaaaaallllly good hand… Album in May? June possibly?”
Azealia’s previous deal with XL Records – a relationship that almost instantly turned barren for the young emcee – failed to deter Banks.
With the help of an enthusiastic Kanye West co-sign and good music to back it up, Banks’ attention and exposure managed to reach the offices at Universal.
