Where was all the new hot music this week from the top artists? The weather is getting hot. For ladies, the Miss Piggy Diva Pumps by Jerome C. Rousseau are super hot. Even the Boston Celtics are getting hot. So what’s up with the music?

Chris Brown knows how to keep it hot. This week he unleashed “Till I Die” featuring the lyrical wizardry of Wiz Khalifa and Big Sean (boy, boy).  When it comes to topnotch beats, producer Danja never disappoints and this track is no different. The pinball machine sound effect compliments the laid back summertime feel this song gives you. Breezy’s new album, Fortune, is going to really surpass all expectations and upset the haters. Good to see you back, lil bro.

Didn’t I just say Chris Brown knows how to keep it cracking? From Busta to billboards and back to RiRi, he is everywhere and on everything. Just ask Tank who featured him on his newest single, “Lonely.” Tank soulfully sings about his lady love leaving him Lonely after his infidelities. Sounds like we’ve heard it before, right? Well, it’s Breezy’s verse that saves the day. His 16-bar rap is hotter than bad breath in the summer. Not bad meaning bad, but bad meaning good! It’s also cool to hear that there is good music left in the Tank.

The hottest free agent on the market continues to be LA’s own incredible Kid Ink. After leaving his signature style all over the radio charts with the smash “Time Of Your Life,” the Kid is back with “Lost In The Sauce.” The Alumni’s most prized artist has been making his rounds across the country, shutting down shows coast to coast. Trying to stay indie for as long as possible, his accomplishments earned him a spot on XXL’s Freshman roster of MC’s to look forward to in 2012. The word is out: Kid Ink is here to write his own hip-hop history.

Chicago is the front line for the next stars in hip-hop music. One of The Windy City’s biggest soldiers is actually a youngster named Chief Keef. The 16-year-old YouTube sensation has over four million views, and the streets are watching, including Kanye West and, oh yes, Soulja Boy. So this week Keef leaked a new song to his many minions of fans. It’s called “Straps,” and it features his homie Gino Marley. Listen to this track — that is if you dare! Hip-hop world, get ready: Keef’s world tour will commence as soon as he gets off house arrest!

I miss The RZA in rap music. His signature production style, the use of strings and action movie sound effects created so much dramatic feeling in his music. Remember Raekwon’s classics “Glaciers of Ice” or “Criminology?” He’s been busy these days doing movies, scoring them and acting in them…horribly. So it was a great surprise this week to see his production skills back to work under Colin Munroe’s new track “Invincible.” True fans of Colin’s work will appreciate this out of the box collaboration between the Memoryhouse and The RZA. Colin’s voice is sweeter than Sunday morning.

Until we read again.
