Yesterday when I heard the track “Daughters” by Nas, I immediately thought of my two daughters. I was flooded with both thoughts of fear and joy.

And in 3 minutes and 26 seconds, Nas captured the worries of almost every father of a little girl who grows up in a hip-hop household in the digital age; the double-edged sword of parenting.
STORY: Nas Baby Mother Blast Him Over Daughters

Then this morning, Nas’ baby mother showed me all baby mothers are alike. She ripped him, called Nas out, and had nothing but bad things to say about the wonderful song that meant so much to me as a father, and I’m sure it meant a whole lot more to Nas.

Now I won’t disrespect or judge another man’s baby momma. That goes against the guy code, but word of advice for the single mothers out there: take a chill pill.
There is some sort of common hatred that baby mothers share with one another that no matter what a baby daddy does, there is a clan of baby mamas who will never be satisfied.

MUSIC: Nas – Daughters

But allow me to explain the deal to that section of baby mothers. The daddy-daughter bond has and always will be complex, but mothers need to know that no amount of arguments or bickering will improve anything. ANYTHING.

Some women need to understand that just because they have kids together doesn’t mean they are friends. So sometimes it’s probably best to just remain quiet, not say anything and leave some opinions to themselves.
