Houston police are still in shock when they got a call to a suicidal man’s apartment and found the body of his 6-month-old son in the refrigerator.

Houston Homicide Sgt. Ora Chandler says the man called 911 Wednesday morning, saying he was having suicidal thoughts and when the officers arrived, the man refused to let them in.
After they forced their way into the apartment, they discovered the infant’s body in the refrigerator.
Chandler said the man confessed that he had put his son in the refrigerator about 6 p.m. Tuesday after finding that he had stopped breathing.
The father, whose identity police were withholding, was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in police custody.
According to Chandler, no charges have been filed as of Wednesday evening, as an autopsy is planned on the child.
Chandler said:
“Up until this point, he had appeared to be a good father and because of her own issues, she decided this would be a temporary solution to her problem. But she planned to come here to actually take the child today.”
Authorities agree that from what they can tell so far from their investigation, the man showed no signs he would commit such an act.
