Some voters might have trouble voting in this upcoming election since the Board of Elections sent notices giving voters the wrong locations for polls.

A spokeswoman for the board, Valerie Vazquez, told the NY Daily News that the mishap was true and was not aware how many voters these wrong directions reached.

The site reports that one elected official was among the people who received a bad mailing.

Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley recently spoke on the error:

“I called up the Board of Elections because I don’t think I should be going nearly a mile away from my home to vote and they said, ‘Oh, that was a mistake. I said, ‘Are you going to send notes to all those you sent the mistake to?’ Their answer was ‘No.’”

She also claimed that she didn’t get a corrected notice from the agency, even though they claimed to have sent one.

Bill de Blasio, a Public Advocate, told the site he thinks the wrong information went to hundreds of voters:

“If we can’t even get people to the right poll site to vote, we are really up the creek.”

Hopefully this problem can be fixed so that voters can get the right polling information and to the right locations.
