Time is running out for Governor Romney. Clock is ticking loudly in his ear. Tick. Tock. Money can’t buy him out the hole he has dug himself into. Real talk, Mitt’s got one last chance left to make the American people believe that he is not just a “made for TV” President. Not even Biggie Smalls could help him with “one more chance…” he’s got one last chance. On October 3rd, Romney will have to transform into the 1993 version of Michael Jordan in the first presidential debate, in order for him to stay in the game. Barack will basically have to fall asleep at the podium for Mitt to look like Jordan, so chances are, he won’t be like Mike that night. And furthermore, Barack is the best closer in the game and a die-hard Bulls fan, so it is a safe bet to believe that Obama will show up to that first debate with his “game six” Jordans on.

If Money Mitt doesn’t deliver on October 3rd, I predict that Karl Rove, the Koch Brothers, Sheldon Alderson and the other rich white guys who are trying to buy the government, will take their money off of Mitt’s horse and focus their attention on House and Senate races they think they can buy, I mean win. There is only so much time the money team can wait until Mitt realizes that he has run one of the worst presidential campaigns in the history. I am not saying that we already have this one in this bag, and we must certainly not get complacent, but c’mon son. Money Mitt is making Sarah Palin look like a formidable candidate. And sooner rather than later, the one-percenters will have to give up on their presidential hopes and start focusing on races they can win. More money has been spent by outside sources on Romney’s campaign, than Romney’s campaign has spent on itself. So, the money team can put an end to Money Mitt’s hoop dreams real quick if he doesn’t lace up on October 3rd.

We have much work to do until October 3rd and much more work to do until November 6th. Let us not think for one moment that the Republicans will not try every dirty trick to get their man in the White House. We must stay disciplined and pro-active so we can continue to move this country forward for all Americans, whether they vote for Barack or not. We don’t play those games. We don’t count those percentages. We stand with every American, regardless of their political affiliation. We must continue to register voters and make sure that those who are already registered are still registered. We must make sure that when early voting begins (this week in Iowa), that we encourage those in those states to vote. And we must keep laser-focused like Jordan. I will concede when Barack drops 55 on Mitt on October 3rd, it will be the first time in my life, as a die-hard Knicks fan, that I will remember MJ fondly.
