And so we begin. Voting for the President of the United States of America has begun. People in Iowa are lining up this morning casting the first ballots of this year’s election. Early voting. Barack Obama’s road to a second term depends on us. The turn-out. What kind of power will our generation show?

We must be the first. The first to show up on the voter lines. The first to cast our ballots. The first to show the world that our generation is ready to lead. The first to promote compassion. The first to support a President that is fighting for every American, not just a percentage of them. The first in line. We must be the first.

There are forty days until Election Day. And early voting matters. Matters so much that Barack Obama might have lost in 2008 if it wasn’t for early voting. John McCain got more votes on Election Day in 2008 than Barack Obama. It was the ground-game that won that election. It was the street teams across the country that mobilized voters to go to the voting booth during the early voting process. And that is how we got the White House. Let’s make that happen again this year!

Here are the states that have early voting: North Carolina, Indiana, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Maryland, Oklahoma, South Dakota, West Virginia, Louisiana, Tennessee, Virginia, Texas, Vermont, Illinois, Iowa, North Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Washington DC, Florida, Ohio, California, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, Alaska, Colorado, Hawaii, Kansas and Nevada.
