The blizzard that hit New England this past week not only did it cause much damage, but it also took lives.

An 11-year-old boy has been pronounced dead this weekend after he was found sheltering himself in a car from the rough weather.

According to the Christian Post, the boy died from carbon monoxide poisoning while staying in the car as his father tried to shovel him out.

Boston was hit “particularly hard” by the storm, so the conditions of staying anywhere outside were certainly extremely dangerous.

The snow bank covering the car was so heavy and high, that the car’s exhaust pipe was blocked, causing the fumes to go into the car and killing the boy.

The site also reports that the father went into respiratory arrest while trying to dig out the car, so he was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment along with his son.

Our prayers and condolences are with the family of this young boy.
