Ariel Castro, the Cleveland man charged with kidnapping, raping and holding three women captive for 10 years, has been declared competent to stand trial.

During a hearing on Wednesday, a Cuyahoga County judge stated that an examination of Castro has proved that he is indeed mentally capable of understanding the charges against him, as well as of assisting his attorneys in defending him.

Having a 329 indictment against him, Castro has pled not guilty and is being held on an $8 million bond.

His trial will commence on Aug. 5. However, the judge admits it can potentially be pushed back.

For a man as sick as Castro is pretending that he had some type of mental illness to get out of his trial, just makes him look that much worse.

See you in court!
