A 6-month-old baby was shot to death last night during a domestic dispute in her Tennessee home.

Parents Ken Mason and Angela Major have been arrested and charged with reckless homicide.

The fatal shooting happened at around 1:30 p.m yesterday. The child was rushed to University of Tennessee Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

A friend of Major, Brandy Mecklemore, later stated in an interview:

“What the hell happened? What were you doing? Why was there a gun anywhere near that child?”

This is not the first time that Major and Mason have had trouble with the law. Prior to this, Major was charged with aggravated arson, vandalism, aggravated burglary and theft. She has also mothered four other children from different fathers and has had all of them taken away from her as well.

Moreover, Mason has an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failing to abide court orders and has failed twice to appear on juvenile petitions.

Mecklemore stated that although her friend has had a lot of legal issues in the past, she was really trying to be the best mom she could to the 6-month-old, who Mecklemore identified as “Kelsey.”

“I would pray to God when I say no [she wouldn’t hurt her], that it is the truth. She doesn’t pass off as the type of person who do that, she has had a lot of troubles, she’s had a lot of bad things happen to her by her own doings,” Mecklemore insisted.

How sad. RIP sweet Kelsey.
