Miley Cyrus will be 18 years old in November, and like every other ‘Disney Diva‘ she has started a rebellion against the rodent who owned her since she was 11 years old. It’s the formula of Disney that all of their pop stars undergo during their transformation. Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Justin Timberlake all did it. When it comes to Miley all we have to do is look at her song ‘I Can’t Be Tamed’ The Village Voice writes:
‘in ‘Can’t Be Tamed,’ M.C. declares that 1) She always has to get her way, 2) This is because she is hot, 3) Said hotness ensures that she ‘always gets the 10s,’ and, finally, 4) She can’t be tamed. Cyrus’s vocals are harsh and preeningly robotic in the rote code for Badass Chick’
Yet their is something different about Miley’s transformation. Miley seems to really be enjoying the attention from dressing like a slut, she seems to be embracing her sexiness like no other Disney Diva. I wouldn’t be surprised if we were blessed with a Miley Cyrus Sextape with her boyfriend. This would be all part of the calculated rebellion of Miley Cyrus. As Theon Weber writes ‘the old slavery hasn’t really gone away, which makes the song a little like Juliet’s balcony, a place to stuff yourself with greedy kisses before your nurse calls from offstage. This is richer and sexier and more interesting than simple teenage rebellion or corporate accounting.’ The Sexification of Miley Cyrus is real and it’s in full effect.
