So, the 2010 Hip-Hop Awards just aired, and while they were really good there were a few things that had us scratching our heads while were watching the show. Here are the 10 Burning Questions raised by the 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards.

Where Was Young Jeezy?

This year’s awards were held in Atlanta – Jeezy’s hometown – at the Civic Center. Rick Ross was there, Gucci Mane was there… yet Jizzle was nowhere to be seen. Given all of the recent talk surrounding TM103’s pushback and Jeezy’s lack of buzz, the awards would’ve been a great way for him to announce that he’s still the trapper of the year.

When Is Antoine Dodson Fever Going To End?

Yes, the ‘Bed Intruder Song’ was funny – the first 100 times we heard it. But COME ON, why is he performing at the BET Hip-Hop Awards? Did he ever find the person who RAPED HIS SISTER? To quote Charlie Murphy, ‘We’ve got to do better.’

Why Doesn’t J. Cole Get More Love?

We’re glad they didn’t cut his performance off like the last time, but the crowd reaction to J. Cole’s performance was kind of on the low side. Which was odd, seeing as he had one of the night’s best performances and Antoine Dodson got a standing ovation. People need to stop sleeping on Hollywood Cole.

IS YELAWOLF  THE NEW EMINEM?

True, he sounds nothing like Em. But if Rick Ross is the ‘new Biggie’ then Catfish Billy is totally the new ‘Em. White rapppers have had it tough since Em blew up, they can’t help but be compared to him and they never quite make the grade – remember Bubba Sparxx? Paul Wall? Yela might have what it takes – he had one of the best cypher verses of the night and his appearance in Big Boi’s performance was great!

IS THERE AN ACCENT NICKI MINAJ CAN’T DO?

We’d be surprised if there was.

WHY DIDN’T SALT & PEPA PERFORM?

I’m sure they could’ve made room for a Salt & Pep perfomance, I mean they had DIGITAL UNDERGROUND and MC HAMMER performing they might as well have had S&P.

WHERE IS SKANK ROBBERS?

We miss Martin Lawrence. His appearance in the Salt & Pepa tribute was hilarious, and we’re highly anticipating his reported movie with Jamie Foxx – SKANK ROBBERS.

HOW DID KANYE WEST MANAGE TO STEAL THE SHOW WHEN HE WASN’T EVEN THERE?

It’s just not fair.

CAN DJ KHALED ACTUALLY DJ?

The awesome DJ scratching during Big Boi’s performance made us realize that the art of ‘deejaying’ has kind of been lost. Khaled is a good dude, but we can’t remember ever seeing him behind the ones and twos scratching like that.&n
