On Wednesday October 14th, 2009 many flocked to the ultra chic Eden Rock Hotel during Miami Fashion Week to premiere the Spring 2010 collection of Argyleculture presented by Russell Simmons. With one of the largest turn outs of all the designers Russell commanded the presence of the whose who in the fashion industry The crowd of people began to take there seats all in anticipation for what is now said to be Russell’s’ greatest collection to date. They walked out looking like the Urban Graduate, the clothes were clean and simple, the fabrics were rich and the color schemes were electric. The models glided down the runway, which was pillared of over a long pool outside of the hotel, the crisp air breezed through the 700+ attendees as they watched an envisioned the most well dressed man they knew adorned in the collection from Russell’s’ American Classic line available at Wal Mart. The crowd was in awe that the copious polo’s, sweaters and khakis were available at Wal Mart stores. And just as people started to rationalize that there was affordable fashion made ready for purchase at Wal Mart Mother Nature began to send soft teardrops from above. The most magical thing was, not one person moved or even flinched as the rain began to fall, I wasn’t sure if it was there loyalty to fashion or Russell but the crowd sat unscathed as mother nature trickled little rain drops of approval on the first collection. As American Classic ended there presentation nature personified decided she would not be out done by Russell Simmons and his fashion efforts, and out of nowhere she opened her skies and released a torrential down pour of love…

In unison the abundant crowd made their way into the Eden Rock Hotels lobby and somehow Russell’s staff managed to manage 700 + people and a bar with out fuss. The crowd was told that the show would still take place and within 20 minutes and a few drinks, the audience was taking their seats in the grand room of the hotel and once again the music started to blare, and with force emerged Argyleculture. The main event was under way, after much delay. Argyleculture seemed to have nailed the look of spring with soft colors and bold argyle print tops. There was everything a man needed, in his spring wardrobe and then there was surprise number 2, hot woman rocking even hotter Argyleculture clothes. When the women hit the stage mouths dropped. We saw a new legacy be born as Russell gave us a small preview as to what women could expect from his collections in the future.

This show was ICONIC. The reaffirmation that Argyleculture was a lifestyle brand that is becoming synonymous with lifestyle fashion and a sneak peak of a female brand that will do major numbers upon its launch, and for those of you that couldn’t make it to the actual show…. No Worries Global Grind got you covered, as for me I’m signing off and heading to the gym to get it right and tight so that I can fit into those little Argyleculture Shorts. Russell go ahead and send me over the whole female collection in a size 2 ok fine size 8 …
