Being a celebrity is an all-inclusive, 24/7 job. Outside of doing whatever it is that made them famous to begin with, there’s making TV appearances, red carpets, fundraisers, premieres, concerts and club cameos that help keep celebrities relevant and in the public eye.  But now that we are in the 21st century and the age of social media, celebrities need to work a little bit harder to appease the people who really matter: their fans.  And utilizing social media is quickly becoming the best way to make this happen.

One of the fastest growing social networking sites on the internet is Twitter. Twitter is an excellent platform that supports simple and quick conversations between people in 140 characters or less. Fans love twitter because it gives them an opportunity to give their favorite celebrities fan appreciation (or hate) with the assurance that the celebrity will receive it. Some of the hottest celebs out are actively using twitter to stay connected with their fans from Britney Spears to Diddy. But not every celebrity has caught on quite yet. Take a look at our list of celebrities who should be on Twitter!

Beyoncé | @sweethoneybee

There is a lot going on in the life of Beyoncé and her fans want to keep up and know every little detail–from concert dates to dates with her husband, Jay-Z and everything in-between. Beyoncé has a twitter but she hasn’t tweeted once. We’re thinking she’d be a more successful twitter user if she tweeted freely like her sister @solangeknowles.

Phil Jackson | @championshiprings

We don’t get to hear much from Phil Jackson outside of press conferences for the Los Angeles Lakers and the brief time-out huddles during games–but we’d like to. Phil Jackson is the coolest man in the NBA. Before leading the Lakers to 5 NBA victories and bringing us Kobe Bryant, Jackson helped lead the Chicago Bulls to 6 NBA victories and introduced us to Michael Jordan. Why wouldn’t we want to follow him?
