I’ll never forget the day, the phone rang at 6am in the hotel in NYC that Melo and I were staying at. It was Reggie Love, saying, ‘Hey Mr.Obama (he wasn’t the president just yet) is staying here at the hotel and would love to meet you guys.’ I’ve never gotten ready so fast in my life!! LOL.
We grabbed Kiyan and zoomed down to the conference room of the hotel to meet the now President Obama. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I was truly honored. Once we all met him, I was speechless.

That is a moment in my life I will NEVER forget. I still can’t believe my family and I were part of history in the making!
I’m so glad I have the picture to show Kiyan, so when he is a bit older, he can completely understand what this moment actually means. This picture of us – our family – alongside our current President shows Obama’s power – and his humble candor.
My hope is that this image will inspire my son – and remind him that the sky is the limit and YES HE CAN – accomplish anything he wants in his life! Listening to Obama and Melo talk basketball was amazing. I remember thinking what a down to earth, humble spirit he has. I really love our President.

At times, I don’t think people understand what a tough job he already walked into. But through it all, Obama is always trying his best to enhance each of our lives and this country. We want faster results, but we also need to recognize the groundbreaking changes he has made, during his short time in office.
We expect so much from him because he is OUR PRESIDENT, and we should continue to do so, but we should also take a moment to highlight his accomplishments. Obama is our miracle worker.
I do believe in time, and with our support, love, and patience, President Obama will accomplish everything he has set out to do. I LOVE YOU MR.PRESIDENT
