The video above may look like a movie, but we assure you…it is real life.
In another disturbing motorcycle incident caught on tape, a man in Brazil is shot by police after hijacking a biker at gunpoint while he was stopped at a light.
The video was caught by Anderson Mangai and is filmed with a helmet-mounted camera, which according to Gawker, is worn by some motorcyclists “as a means of insurance, capturing interactions on the road from the driver’s point of view.”
What he captures, however, was the viewpoint of someone with a gun in their face. The hijacker shoves the gun towards the driver and demands he gives up the bike. When the biker gives up and the hijacker takes the motorcycle from the ground, he is shot twice by police on the opposite side of the street.
Here’s a transcript of their exchange:
Victim: Now you’re gonna rot in hell, you son of a bitch.
Robber (whining): I got shot!
Victim (pissed off): You go fuck yourself! You’re the one pointing a gun at other people’s face!
Robber: Oh, I’m gonna die.
Victim: You sure will! You should have already! Son of a bitch.
(Robber inaudible, apparently asks someone to get him something to drink.)
Victim: You’re gonna drink in hell! You’re gonna drink the devil!
We have not confirmed if the thief lived, but according to popular assumption on Reddit (and Gawker), he’ll be fine.
