So this happened.
The Albuquerque, New Mexico Sheriff’s Office was left puzzled after a woman managed to sneak a gun past four officers by hiding it in her vagina.
According to the Albuquerque Journal, Josephine McAllister was arrested during the holiday season for several charges, including possession of stolen credit cards, receiving stolen property, larceny and “resisting/obstructing an officer.” The 34-year-old, who was high on heroin, entered the Metropolitan Detention Center with the gun and left it in the bathroom.
McAllister told Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office deputies she had the gun on her before she was arrested by APD. She said she had the gun in her waistband but didn’t tell police about it because she didn’t want more charges. She said she put the gun in the trash as soon as she could.
At least four officers searched her before she was booked, according to the complaint. Deputies believe she was concealing the gun in her genital area, not in her waistband.
“We can only be so thorough, and that area is out of the question,” Officer Simon Drobik told Albuquerque TV station KOAT. “We cannot search a body cavity.”
McAllister was booked on a new charge and the county jail is now working on new measures, like additional body checks with wands to keep inmates free of any contraband.
It is unknown if the gun was loaded or not.
