Short was arrested in Claremont, California and later released on $50,000 bail. He has not yet been given a court date.
During the alleged altercation, the victim’s nose was broken and he was knocked unconscious. TMZ reports that police charged Columbus with aggravated battery. If he’s found guilty, he could be looking at four years in the slammer.
According to TMZ, this isn’t Short’s first run-in with the law caused by violence. In 2010, he was involved in an altercation on a basketball court in which another party was injured; the actor pleaded no contest to disturbing the peace. Last month, he was arrested for reportedly attacking his wife in front of their young children at his home in Los Angeles.
He was charged with both spousal battery and child abuse. Yikes.
